Business Spotlight: Tintype Photography

Kristina Dorton bought her first camera in 2005 for her high school photo lab and hasn’t looked back. Seventeen years and some thousands of pictures later and she has built quite a following as a photographer in Chattanooga. “I like to start at the beginning of someone’s story and continue photographing them through all their major life events: engagement, wedding, pregnancy, newborn, and so on. It completes the photography circle and makes for lifelong clients and friendships,” says Dorton.

While she does photograph a dozen or so weddings a year, Kristina says she wants to focus her business on family portraits. She also dabbles in professional headshots and is willing to bundle a headshot session and a family session so all the working moms can get both done at the same time!

Kristina’s number one tip on being a female business owner in today’s world is to buy a Passion Planner: “I buy it for all my brides! It’s a step-by-step guide that integrates work and life. Go buy a Passion Planner—it is amazing!”

If you are interested in booking a session with Kristina, go to www.tintype-photo.com and click

on “Services.” And if you want a Passion Planner, I bought mine at passionplanner.com.
